Free screening of “Loving” at Rialto Cinemas Cerrito on Saturday June 10

On Saturday, June 10, the El Cerrito Human Relations Commission is hosting a free screening of the movie “Loving” at Rialto Cinemas Cerrito. The film starts at 10 a.m.

“Loving” (Rated PG-13) tells the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple whose arrest for interracial marriage in 1960s Virginia began a legal battle that would end with the Supreme Court’s historic 1967 decision to overturn the ban on interracial marriage. The film screening is part of the city’s Loving Day celebration, which continues on Sunday, June 11 with a family-friendly event at City Hall from noon to 3:30 p.m. with music, arts and crafts, a food truck and more.
