Celebrate El Cerrito’s Centennial by facing ‘The Awful Truth’

The Cerrito Theater, today Rialto Cinemas Cerrito, became a community institution when it opened during the Depression. When it re-opened due to community pressure in 2006, after being shuttered for decades, it became a community institution once again.

Kick off the grand El Cerrito Centennial Weekend at the Cerrito Theater on September 14. Enjoy the jazzy band, Leftover Dreams, playing standards of the Great American Songbook. View vintage cars. Feel free to come in vintage clothing! Admire the Art Deco architecture. The evening will feature the hilarious screwball comedy, ‘The Awful Truth,’ with Cary Grant and Irene Dunne. It’s from 1937 – the year the Cerrito Theater was born.

Tickets will go on sale soon at Rialto Cinemas Cerrito and will sell out.

Mark your calendars for September 14.
