Welcome in the New Year with David Bowie and some amazing Muppets at the Cerrito on Thursday, January 12 at 9:30!
What happens when you—as a fifteen-year-old—very annoyingly have to babysit your baby brother. Having an active imagination, you might say out loud, ”I wish the goblins would take you away right now.”
And that’s exactly what happens in “Labyrinth!” Then, Sarah is visited by Jareth (David Bowie), the ruler of the mystical world. He tells her that to get her little brother back, she must make her way in a labyrinth, through a topsy-turvy world, a maze of scary magical creatures.
She’s like Alice in Wonderland, only in a much darker world, and as she struggles through it, she’s taunted by Jareth in his driving, sensual songs.
What talent went into “Labyrinth!” David Bowie in an iconic role; Jennifer Connelly as Sarah; director Jim Henson, using futuristic technology, creating fantastic humanoid creatures. The script was written by Terry Jones, one of the Monty Pythons, and is both witty and zany, adding to the appeal to all ages of audiences.
“Labyrinth” plays once only on Thursday, January 12 at 9:30 p.m. All seats are $9.00. Moviegoers are strongly advised to buy advance tickets at the box office or online, as many shows sell out. Arriving early is a good idea, in order to choose your seat and also order delicious food and wine or beer.
