Have the ultimate concert experience at the Cerrito on Thursday, August 11, at 9:30!
The pleasure of “Stop Making Sense” is in watching a band, The Talking Heads, led by David Byrne, perform at the top of its game. You could say the same thing about the director of the movie, Jonathan Demme, now known for such movies as “Married to the Mob,” “Philadelphia,” and “Silence of the Lambs.”
In “Stop Making Sense,” Demme created the ultimate classic concert film, when filming the “Talking Heads” performance at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. Unlike earlier concert films, it’s all about the music and the players, not the faces in the crowd or what’s going on backstage. What you get is pure energy, bursting from the screen.
“Stop Making Sense” plays once only on Thursday, August 11, at 9:30 p.m. All seats are $9.00. Moviegoers are strongly urged to buy advance tickets at the box office or online, as many shows sell out. Arriving early is a good idea, in order to choose your seat and also order delicious food and wine or beer.
