The Cerrito will be showing “The Beautiful Country” at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 7. Admission will be free. This is part of a series of events sponsored by the Contra Costa County Library commemorating the 40th anniversary of the end of the war in Vietnam.
The movie tells the story of a young boy in Vietnam whose father is an American soldier who has gone back to the U.S. The child and his mother are despised because of this association, so they embark on a perilous journey to the United States, where they are met with more challenges.
