Join the adventure—if you dare—with Indiana Jones at the Cerrito at 7:00 on Thursday, September 13!
Movie critic Roger Ebert described “Raiders of the Lost Ark” as “an out-of-body experience, a movie of glorious imagination and breakneck speed that grabs you in the first shot, hurtles you through a series of incredible adventures, and deposits you back in reality two hours later—breathless, dizzy, wrung-out, and with a silly grin on your face. This movie celebrates the stories we spent our adolescence searching for in the pulp adventure magazines, in the novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs, in comics—even in the movies.”
Indiana Jones and his indomitable girlfriend take you to a dazzling array of dangerous places, including Tibet and Egypt on a do-or-die quest, in a tumultuous time, 1936. Jones (Harrison Ford) is an American archaeologist who has learned that the Nazis have discovered the Lost Ark—a religious artifact said to impart supernatural powers to whomever possesses it. The Nazis are in all-out pursuit, but Jones and Marion (played by Karen Allen) are determined to get there first.
“Raiders of the Lost Ark” won four Oscars, but somehow director Steven Spielberg was passed over.
“Raiders of the Lost Ark” plays once only on Thursday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. All seats are $9.00.
