See Charlie Chapin seek his fortune in the Klondike!

Rialto Cinemas Cerrito is celebrating Silent Movie Day with “The Gold Rush” (1925), starring and directed by Charlie Chaplin. In this comedy masterpiece, The Little Tramp goes to the Klondike to try to strike it rich in the Alaska gold rush of 1896. The movie features some of Chaplin’s most famous set pieces, including the dance of the dinner rolls and the meal of a boiled shoe. In 1992, “The Gold Rush” was selected for the National Film Registry as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” The Cerrito will be showing a new 4K restoration of this great film.
